Watch to Air World’s Strictest Parents U.S., Australia

LONDON: The UKTV entertainment channel Watch has picked up from Outright Distribution the U.S. and Australian versions of World’s Strictest Parents.

World’s Strictest Parents US and World’s Strictest Parents Australia will be complemented on air by the acquisition of the British series of the same name, which will broadcast after the BBC. Watch will premiere the U.S. series this September.

UKTV’s acquisitions executive Emma Sparks said, “Watch is building a reputation as the home of shows from around the world that are perfect shared viewing. World’s Strictest Parents is a great addition to our output which includes Who Do You Think You Are? US and Masterchef Australia.”

Julie Swanston, the deputy channel head for Watch, said, “I’m incredibly delighted that we’ve secured the U.S., Australian and U.K. series of World’s Strictest Parents. The dramatic highs and lows of teenage life are exactly the sort of must-see telly you can’t help talking about, perfect for couples watching together, and perfect for Watch.”
