Warner Music and YouTube Sign Licensing Agreement

BURBANK, September 19:
Warner Music Group (WMG) and the online video-sharing website YouTube have
signed a deal that allows WMG’s catalogue to be distributed online.

According to the
agreement, YouTube has the right to show WMG’s library of music videos, as well
as behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with artists and original content.
YouTube users are also allowed to remix and adapt the videos into their own
creations.

YouTube and Warner will
share revenue from advertisements that appear with the videos. This deal is
part of YouTube’s ongoing strategy of providing free viewing of
consumer-generated video clips.
