BURBANK: A new programming volume deal sees Central European Media Enterprises’ (CME) Nova TV network become Warner Bros. International Television Distribution’s (WBITD) free-TV partner in Croatia.

Nova TV takes on new shows from the U.S. 2009-10 season such as The Vampire Diaries, V, Human Target and the upcoming series Pretty Little Liars and Rizzoli & Isles. The deal also includes a slate of theatrical motion pictures such as The Departed, 300 and Blood Diamond, as well as previously released feature films and series from the Warner Bros. Entertainment collection and animated programming for the launch of a new Warner Bros.-branded animation block.

“Nova TV has made an aggressive play for our programming slate, which includes some of the most buzzed-about new series of the season in the U.S.,” said Jeffrey Schlesinger, the president of Warner Bros. International Television. “Our TV shows and movies will be a great fit for Nova, and we are excited about this new agreement, which is one of the most significant programming deals in Croatia.”

“This agreement is a major boost for our Croatian station Nova TV in terms of further strengthening our leadership position on the Croatian market,” commented Petr Dvorak, the senior VP of broadcasting at CME.

Dražen Mavrić, the general director of Nova TV, added, “Strong movies and series from Warner Bros. will be a great addition to our own fiction and non-fiction production. We are very pleased to have a new collection of quality feature films and TV series to air.”
