VIZ Media to Showcase Anime Properties at MIPCOM

SAN FRANCISCO, October 4: VIZ Media and VIZ Media Europe,
its Paris-based subsidiary, will showcase a variety of anime properties at
MIPCOM.

Available at the market are action titles aimed at teens and
young adults, including Bleach, Death Note and
Blue Dragon. Created by Tite
Kubo, Bleach is an animated
action series about a 15-year-old boy who has the ability to see ghosts. Death
Note is based on the Shueisha manga series
of the same name, and depicts the adventures of
student Light Yagami, who finds the Death Note, a notebook dropped by a rogue
god; and Blue Dragon is
based on the popular Microsoft Xbox 360 video game developed
by Hironobu Sakaguchi (the creator of Final
Fantasy) and is a classic adventure story
of magical Shadow powers, flying air fortresses, and unbounded heroism.

Aimed at tween and teen girls, Kirari
is a new series that follows a 14-year-old
girl on a quest to become a teen idol to win the heart of a singer in a pop
idol duo. Other titles from VIZ Media include MÄR and Megaman Star Force.
