Virgin1 Orders More Sun, Sea and A&E

LONDON: Virgin1 has commissioned a second season of the observational docuseries Sun, Sea and A&E from October Films.

The vacation destination of Spanish isle Mallorca is put in the spotlight once again. With unprecedented access to the Spanish hospitals, doctors and medical staff of Mallorca, the show offers exclusive access to the island’s busy casualty wards revealing some of the bizarre, bloody and shocking injuries and conditions that doctors and nurses are faced with as they try to cope with the influx of British tourists. This second season goes one step further and travels with the emergency services and ambulances on the island.

Daniela Neumann, the director of programs for Virgin1, commented, "This year, Sun, Sea and A&E ups the ante following the ambulance crews and more British holidaymakers whose stay in the sun turns sour in one of Britain’s best-loved holiday destinations."

Denman Rooke, the managing director of October Films, said, “After the success of the first season, Sun, Sea and A&E is back with a bang. For this second series we are at the forefront of the action, so heart-stopping moments are guaranteed. We are delighted that Virgin1 is as committed to the series as we are and we look forward to developing the series further.”
