Virgin Media Faces Decision in Sky Battle

LONDON, April 6: Virgin Media is considering its options in
its battle with BSkyB over carriage of the Sky basic channels after receiving a
response from the satellite operator earlier this week.

Virgin Media had threatened legal action against Sky if the
dispute wasn’t resolved within a 30-day deadline. That deadline expired this
week. It is not clear what Sky’s response to Virgin was. A Virgin Media
spokesman told Dow Jones Newswires: "We did receive a response from Sky
last night and we are considering carefully our response to that.

Virgin Media and BSkyB have been unable to come to agreement
on carriage terms for Sky’s basic channels, which include Sky One and Sky News.
