Video Interview: The Wrong Mans’ James Corden, Mathew Baynton & Jim Field Smith

NEW YORK: In this video interview, The Wrong Mans' co-creators and stars James Corden and Mathew Baynton, together with producer and director Jim Field Smith, tell World Screen about what they wanted to achieve with the series: bringing the thrilling action of shows like 24 into a half-hour comedy format.

Following rave reviews in the U.K., where it just wrapped a six-episode season on BBC Two, The Wrong Mans is headed to the U.S. The Hulu co-production, distributed by BBC Worldwide, was co-created and written by its two leads, Corden and Baynton, who previously worked together on the British comedy hit Gavin & Stacey.

They also weigh in on the creative opportunities being opened up by platforms like Hulu, whose investment in the show early on, Corden says, was instrumental in allowing the creative team to deliver on their ambitions. British fans are already clamoring for a second season of the show, billed by critics as a “wickedly funny crime caper” as the hapless Sam (Baynton) and Phil (Corden) find themselves embroiled in a dangerous criminal conspiracy.
