NEW YORK: MarVista CEO Fernando Szew talks in this video interview about the Saban partnership and re-launch of Power Rangers, along with discussing the current state of the kids’ business and TV-movie industry.

 

Power Rangers took the ’90s by storm as a live-action TV phenomenon, with a range of theatrical films and top-selling merchandise that solidified the brand’s iconic pop-culture status. Centered on a team of costumed heroes, the property is being re-launched with an action-packed Samurai-themed TV series, video games, online activity and social media.

Saban Brands is responsible for all aspects of the Power Rangers brand, including the production of the new 40-episode Power Rangers Samurai series to air on Nickelodeon in the U.S., while MarVista Entertainment is handling global television sales. In addition to the new series, MarVista also holds the rights to the 700 library episodes of Power Rangers. The deal with Saban marked an important milestone in the growth of MarVista, which is known as a leading supplier of TV movies and family fare
