Video Interview: Endgame’s Shawn Doyle and Avrum Jacobson

VANCOUVER: The Endemol-distributed Canadian drama Endgame has built-in international appeal and offers an alternative to the traditional crime procedural, Shawn Doyle and Avrum Jacobson, its star and creator, respectively, tell World Screen Newsflash in this video interview.

Expanding its portfolio of North American drama, Endemol Worldwide Distribution last year announced a deal with Canadian outfit Thunderbird Films to represent the Showcase original series Endgame. Created by Avrum Jacobson, the show, which premiered in Canada last month and was launched to the international television marketplace at MIPTV, stars Shawn Doyle, whose credits include spots on 24, Desperate Housewives and Big Love. Doyle has received rave reviews for his performance as Arkady Balagan, a Russian chess champion who uses his skills of perception and strategic thinking to solve crimes.
