Video Interview: CIMG’s Jene Elzie

NEW YORK: Jene Elzie, the VP of international sales and strategic planning at CIMG, talks in this video interview about positioning the company as a player in the format market, and also discusses the windowing strategy CIMG employs worldwide, balancing the needs of its channels and those of its clients.

The E! franchises encompass some of the best-known celebrity-based programming around the world. Add to that a catalogue that includes the female-skewing The Style Network and male-focused G4, Versus and The Golf Channel and you have a content powerhouse that can cover nearly all demographics in a range of genre categories. This breadth has helped Comcast International Media Group (CIMG) cater to the needs of a wide variety of clients.

The company’s focus on high-quality, low-cost programming helped it maintain solid business through the economic slump. This was further bolstered by the fact that many of its brands are known entities, with multiple seasons, delivering the type of safe bets that clients look to rely on. The strength of the CIMG brands and programming has presented opportunities for localizing content, leading the company to enter into the formats arena. This has proved to be a positive move for CIMG, with a slew of deals already in place from its formats slate.
