Video Interview: 9 Story’s Vince Commisso

NEW YORK: In this video interview, Vince Commisso, 9 Story Entertainment’s president, CEO and co-founder, discusses exciting new deals at the company, including its partnership with The Fred Rogers Company and more.

In the nearly ten years since it was first established, 9 Story Entertainment has become one of Canada’s leading animation, production and distribution companies. It has delivered some 500 half-hour episodes, which have been sold in more than 50 countries around the world, delighting children with such beloved characters as Max and Ruby and Wibbly Pig. Recently, licensing has become a key part of the company’s strategy for growth, as 9 Story has secured licensees for the hit animated series Almost Naked Animals, now heading into its second season.

Commisso discusses exciting new deals at the company: the new co-venture with WGBH Boston to produce the popular award-winning children’s series Arthur, beginning with its 16th season, now in production, for which 9 Story will handle international distribution; and a partnership with The Fred Rogers Company, which turned to 9 Story to produce the new children’s series Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, an extension of the iconic Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. 9 Story will produce the series at the company’s Toronto studios and control the Canadian and international distribution rights.
