VH1 Lines Up Money Hungry

SANTA MONICA: Endemol USA-owned 51 Minds Entertainment is producing Money Hungry, a new competitive weight-loss series, for VH1, for premiere in August.

The weight-loss show with a comedic twist puts $10,000 of the contestants’ own money on the line to encourage them to lose unwanted pounds. Twelve pairs of contestants will face off to see who can lose the most weight, with the winning duo taking home $100,000. It premieres August 2 at 9 p.m. with Dan Cortese as host.

The series is created and executive produced by Cris Abrego for 51 Minds Entertainment and Ellen Rakieten for Ellen Rakieten Entertainment. 51 Minds has produced a slew of shows for VH1, including The Surreal Life, Flavor of Love, Rock of Love, My Fair Brady, Real Chance of Love and For the Love of Ray J.
