VH1 Greenlights Seven New Productions

SANTA MONICA, March 6:
VH1, which for the first time in its 23-year history has ranked among the
top-10 basic-cable networks among viewers 18 to 49 in prime time according to
Nielsen Media Research, has greenlit seven new productions.

The four new
“celebreality” sitcoms given the go-ahead are The Cho Show, starring comedienne Margaret Cho and her family
and friends; Luke’s World,
which follows Luther Campbell from the rap group 2 Live Crew; New York Goes
to Hollywood
, featuring reality-TV
diva Tiffany “New York” Pollard; and Brooke Hogan Knows Best, which watches Brooke Hogan strike out on her own.

Also being greenlit are
new editions of the Emmy Award-winning Rock Docs franchise, with the stories of James Brown and
Elton John, and a new VH1 Storytellers, with Snoop Dogg.

"Breaking into
cable's overall top-10-network rankings is a new milestone in VH1's ratings
ascent that's been propelled by some of the most talked about shows in
television this year including Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew and Rock of Love 2," said Jeff Olde, VH1's executive VP of
programming and development. "VH1 has never had so many hit shows on our
air at one time. This new slate of provocative 'celebreality' shows, insightful
music documentaries and exclusive music performances will keep our success
streak going while fueling our expanding original programming efforts."
