VH1 Gives Go-Ahead to Pair of Reality Shows

LOS ANGELES: Building out the hit Basketball Wives franchise, VH1 has ordered the spinoff Basketball Wives: Los Angeles, along with giving the greenlight to a new dating show, Siggy Flicker (working title).

Premiering August 29, Basketball Wives: Los Angeles is a ten-episode series that will look into the lives of the leading ladies behind some of the NBA’s biggest players. The cast for the new series, produced by Shed Media, includes Kimsha Artest (wife of Ron Artest, Los Angeles Lakers), Gloria Govan (fiancee of Matt Barnes, Los Angeles Lakers), Laura Govan (sister of Gloria Govan) and Jackie Christie (wife of Doug Christie, former player for the Los Angeles Clippers) and Imani Showalter (ex-fiancee of Stephen Jackson, Charlotte Bobcats).

Tentatively titled Siggy Flicker, the new 10×1-hour dating show for VH1 debuts October 16. The series follows an expert matchmaker who is helping NYC singles find love. Each week will see her working with two clients, one male and one female, to provide personalized dating lessons. The team then goes out to find possible matches to set up the clients. The series is produced by Left/Right.
