What are some of your top properties for MIPCOM?

At MIPCOM 2009 we will launch our first in house production Everything’s Rosie, a hi-definition, CGI preschool series. For the first time we are delighted to bring to this market a complete episode and our priority is to meet with the broadcasters and present a detailed look into the depth and high-quality Everything’s Rosie has to offer. In addition to this we bring to the market a further 26 episodes (recently confirmed by CBeebies) making Rosie. The first series is due to be delivered in Spring 2010 for broadcast on CBeebies in the U.K.

Why will these programs appeal to buyers?

Everything’s Rosie meets a current gap in the market place for a girl led series with a dynamic role model, Rosie for the preschool audience to include the BOYS. Visually Rosie is fresh and vibrant and the story telling by Dave Ingham takes the audience on an exciting and adventurous journey of discovery with Rosie and her colorful group of friends. The completed episode is everything we wanted it to be and more and we are hoping the buyers will be as thrilled as we are.

What are some of the trends you’re currently seeing in this market?

There are many projects that are still looking for funding, generally from the same sources and consequently a lot fall by the wayside as funding is harder to secure. To add to this dilemma budgets in all categories are becoming more limited resulting in Broadcasters becoming more selective and definite in their requirements for their audiences. Projects need to offer something different as well as longevity to have any hope of being commercially viable. Currently we are seeing a tendency to re-version or re-launch programs with fewer risks being taken to develop new projects. We are fortunate that Rosie was in development for 6 years and therefore a lot of thought and care has been taken during this time to ensure the concept of Rosie and her friends will appeal to our target audience

What are your goals and expectations MIPCOM?

We are looking to place Everything’s Rosie in all territories where it hasn’t already been presold, to enable the series the best chance of fulfilling it’s potential. TV still remains the first essential place for any preschool brand

Is there any other information you would like to share regarding your plansfor MIPCOM?
VGI have several projects in development including Fred Basset. Fred will be discussed with several major broadcasters who are keen to become involved in this series from an early stage.
In addition we are looking to invest in new children’s series that have something innovative and exciting to offer the children’s market.
