Verizon, Time Warner Add New Latino Programming

LOS ANGELES, July 29: Sí TV, the media company that targets U.S. Hispanics with English-language content, has secured a deal with Time Warner Cable and Verizon to make a selection of its HD programming available through their on-demand services.

Time Warner Cable is set to launch Model Latina on its on-demand service in early August, while Verizon FiOS TV debuted the program, along with Jammin, on its HD service on July 25, in addition to carrying Sí TV on its most widely distributed service tier.

Model Latina follows ten contestants as they go through a crash course in becoming their own brand, merging their Latino traditions with American culture. The second season of Jammin follows the aspirations of Latino indie bands, looking at diverse music genres, tastes and influences.

“Sí TV not only provides cable and telco an opportunity to tap into the fastest-growing demographic in the U.S., but an audience with a proven track record for consuming HD channels,” said Michael Schwimmer, the CEO of Sí TV. “This is not only a great opportunity for Sí TV but for our partners to add value to their HD VOD lineup.”
