NEW YORK: Veria TV is to provide health and wellness programming to U.S. troops stationed around the world via a three-year distribution deal with the American Forces Network.

The American Forces Network (AFN) is operated by the Department of Defense, servicing nearly 1 million American service men and women, Defense civilians and families overseas, stationed at bases in 175 countries and 140 U.S. Navy ships. Veria’s healthy lifestyle and wellness channel on AFN will be shown in an early morning programming block on weekdays. The lineup includes Fed Up, with chef Andrea Beaman providing recipes for simple, healthy foods; Yoga for Life, featuring yoga routines of all levels; Pilates: From the Inside Out, showing viewers a full-body workout; and Under the Sun, a tour of some of the world’s best natural foods.

“Veria programming is extremely well-produced and engaging and will no doubt contribute to the health and well-being of our troops and their families stationed around the world,” said Larry Marotta, the director of television at AFN.

"All Americans, both at home and serving abroad, are seeking new and better ways to live healthier and happier, and Veria is committed to their well-being,” added Hal Rosenberg, Veria TV’s general manager. “We are thrilled to be part of the AFN family of networks and look forward to serving the heroes of our armed forces and their families.”
