MIAMI: Venevision International and Netflix have signed a deal that allows subscribers in Latin America to access a selection of telenovelas such as Eva Luna, starring Guy Ecker and Blanca Soto.

The agreement will give Netflix subscribers access to five hit novelas in addition to Eva Luna, the highest-rated novela in the history of productions made in the U.S. This includes Acorralada (Trapped), starring Alejandra Lazcano and David Zepeda; La Vida Entera (For a Lifetime), with Anastasia Mazzone and Jorge Reyes; Gata Salvaje (Wild Cat), featuring Marlene Favela and Mario Cimarro; and Rebeca, interpreted by Mariana Seoane and Ricardo Alamo. Full episodes will be available beginning in 2012.

“The commercial alliance with Netflix allows us to distribute our products in a new medium, video streaming; the consumer habits for entertainment have changed and Netflix is one way to respond; we are pleased to have our products as part of their catalogue,” said Adriana Cisneros de Griffin, the vice chairman and VP of strategy of the Cisneros Group of Companies. “In our experience, we have duplicated the success we’ve achieved on traditional screens in the digital media; I’m convinced our products will be very appealing to Netflix subscribers.”
