MADRID: Zinkia Entertainment has made Evolution Management Group (EMG) its U.S. licensing agent for the animated series Pocoyo.

EMG, which specializes in global brand and IP development, will work with Maria Doolan, the managing director of brand and business development for Zinkia Entertainment, to secure new merchandising, licensing and promotional opportunities for the Pocoyo brand. Travis J. Rutherford, the CEO and co-founder of the Evolution Management Group, will develop new licensing partnerships and spearhead the retail development for Pocoyo consumer products, while the president and co-founder, Adam Unger, oversees product development and promotional opportunities.

“The EMG team brings a wealth of creativity and expertise to the partnership,” Doolan said. “We have great confidence in their combined talents and abilities to help us secure the type of product partnerships, merchandise development and retail support that will expand the Pocoyo brand to the next level throughout the U.S.”

“We are very honored to be chosen by Zinkia to represent Pocoyo in the U.S.,” Rutherford said. “The property is very special and we believe sets an extremely high bar in quality children’s programming. Working alongside Zinkia’s broadcast partners (Nick Jr., Univision and PBS) and assisting licensees, including Bandai (Master Toy) and N-Circle (DVD), we will be expanding the retail footprint for the property, and facilitating new licensing and promotional alliances with best in class product partners to create truly innovative product assortments that remain true to the brand essence.”
