Twentieth Century Fox Film (TCFF) has named Vanessa Morrison, who has led Twentieth Century Fox Animation for the past decade, president of Fox Family, a newly created division that will develop and produce family movies.

In her new role, which is effective immediately, Morrison will continue to work under Chairman and CEO Stacey Snider and Vice Chairman Emma Watts. She will be responsible for bolstering the studio’s family animated television business, while also managing feature film extensions of 21CF’s TV properties, including Bob’s Burgers. A number of the studio’s existing deals with animation producers will also continue to be overseen by Morrison.

Before this appointment, Morrison served as president of Twentieth Century Fox Animation since 2007. Prior to that, she held senior production positions at the studio, including executive VP of Twentieth Century Fox. Earlier in her career at the company, she was senior VP of production and VP of production.

Snider and Watts said: “Vanessa has for many years championed the studio’s efforts to take a more wholistic approach to the family entertainment space, and this new role will empower her to execute on that goal. We are thrilled to have her leading this initiative, and as this segment in the marketplace continues to grow, the creation of this new division will strengthen our footprint as we look to create the best possible films for families across our entire company.”
