UTV to Make Movie Channel Content Available on DVD

NEW DELHI, April 10: UTV
Entertainment Television will release a selection of films on DVD that have
aired on its World Movies channel in India, beginning in May.

With more than 500 titles
in its library, UTV’s World Movies channel brings contemporary box-office hits
from around the world to Indian television sets. UTV’s home-video division is
set to offer about half of the titles from the catalogue, which includes
Bollywood blockbusters as well as Hollywood content. Titles slated for DVD
release include the Spanish film Buenos Aires 1977, Fados, La Zona and Pierre
Salvadori’s comedy Priceless.

philosophy, we have always believed in retaining our intellectual property
rights as this makes us valued content custodians,” said Shantonu Aditya, the
CEO of UTV Entertainment Television. “We are very positive on the tremendous
scope and growth prospects of this business and we know that this business
model would drive our revenues significantly. We are going to provide value for
money to Indian viewers as they get to see original versions of some of the
most entertaining and recent box-office hits from around the world.”
