UPIE Bolsters London-Based Management Team

LONDON, August 30: Universal Pictures International
Entertainment, the international home-entertainment division of NBC Universal,
has announced a series of promotions for its London-based management team.

Former VP of licensees and emerging markets, Melanie Nicholas,
will serve as the senior VP of marketing, charged with leading international
marketing initiatives for home entertainment outside of the U.S. She will also
continue with her current responsibilities for international licensees and
Russia. Nicholas’s promotion follows the decision by the current executive VP
of commercial, Wayne Borg, to relinquish his leadership role of UPIE’s
marketing, sales and digital activities. He will remain with the company until
the end of 2007, and in that time will focus on driving Universal’s high
definition strategy, with particular respect to HD-DVD and key representation
in the European HD-DVD Group.

Reporting to Nicholas, Clare Edwards has been promoted to VP
of international licensees, responsible for all international home
entertainment licensing activity.

Pancho Perez will succeed Carlos Domenech, who is taking up
an external post in the U.S., as the company’s new CFO. Perez’s experience at
UPIE includes serving as CFO for Europe and for the last 18 months as financial
controller for the business.

John Revill, UPIE’s VP of sales, will now report directly to
the company president, Eddie Cunningham.
