Univision Presents 2010-2011 Lineup

NEW YORK: Univision will debut more than 20 new shows across its three networks in the 2010-2011 season, including the telenovela Eva Luna, from Univision Studios in association with Venevision, and a dance competition produced with Endemol.

The leading U.S. Hispanic broadcaster also revealed that it has nabbed the exclusive Spanish-language television and digital rights to all Mexican National Soccer Team games, which are currently held by Telemundo. “Outside of the FIFA World Cup, the Mexican National Soccer Team is the premiere soccer attraction for U.S. Hispanic audiences," said Cesar Conde, the president of the Univision Networks. "This acquisition solidifies Univision’s position as the premiere provider of soccer programming in the United States and we are thrilled to be able to offer the best soccer content to our loyal audiences across our television, video-on-demand, online and mobile platforms."

The Monday to Friday prime-time novela lineup on the flagship Univision network also includes, from Televisa Internacional, Soy tu Dueña (You Belong To Me), Mar de Amor (Sea of Love), Zacatillo, Un Lugar en Tu Corazón (Zacatillo, A Place in Your Heart) and Llena de Amor (Big on Love). In terms of weekly prime-time series, Univision has lined up, again from Televisa, Cuna de Lobos (Cradle of Wolves), an update on a hit 1980s teenovela. And from Endemol USA Latina comes Los Exitosos Pérez (The Successful Pérez).

On the reality front, there’s Univision Studios’ Mira Quién Baila (Look Who’s Dancing), a dancing reality competition produced with Endemol for Sunday prime time. Univision Studios is also producing Desafío: La Gran Batalla (The Challenge—The Big Battle) with BETV, a reality competition set on a tropical island. Other upcoming highlights, on the entertainment and variety end are El Gran Show (The Big Show), from Univision Studios, in co-production with Imagina US; and Llévatelo Todo (Grab It All).

On Telefutura, the weekday prime-time lineup includes Globo’s India and RCN’s Doña Bella (Beautiful Lady) and Rosario Tijeras. The year will also see Telefutura delivering a host of Hollywood movies in Spanish, among them Angels and Demons/ Galavision’s new highlights include El Peso del Matrimonio (Back in Wedding Shape), Detrás del Saber (In Search of Knowledge) and Una Hora en Alerta.
