Universal Channel Expands Turkish Presence

LONDON: Universal Networks International has secured a slot for the Universal Channel on Turkey’s largest cable-TV platform, Turksat Cable TV.

First launched in Turkey in December on D-Smart, Universal Channel is now also available in Turksat’s basic package. Announcing the new carriage, Colin McLeod, managing director for Central and Eastern Europe at Universal Networks International, noted: "Turkey is a vibrant, dynamic and demanding multichannel TV market. After just one month of broadcast in Turkey, we are honoured and truly excited to add Turksat Cable TV as a key client for Universal Channel. Turksat has identified Universal Channel as a key promotional tool in their digital strategy and we are delighted to support them.”

The channel’s lineup includes 30 Rock, House and The Office as well as a range of feature films.
