UKTV’s Dave Achieves Solid First-Month Ratings

LONDON,
November 21: The male-skewing British channel Dave, re-launched from UKTV G2 in
October, has garnered successful ratings among the 16-to-44 male demographic.

One
of nine channels from UKTV, Dave has established itself as the number one
channel of choice among males aged 16 to 44, surpassed only by the U.K.
terrestrial channels. Dave is also the U.K.’s tenth largest channel, attracting
more than 3 million viewers daily.

The
channel, which launched on October 15, delivered a 1.32-percent share of total
multichannel homes and a 3.2-percent share of the target audience of males 16
to 34. In pay-TV homes, the channel brought in 1.8 million new viewers,
increasing its viewership by 35 percent since the re-branding.

Commenting on Dave’s
success, its channel head, Steve North, said: “We are thrilled by the impact we
have had on our audience. The amount of viewers and their positive reaction has
affirmed our belief in the re-brand and positioning of the channel—we are
looking forward to its continuing success.”

Matthew Littleford, the
controller of UKTV, added: “Not only is the channel
reaching more people, the viewers are also watching for longer, proving the
compelling nature and content of the channel. It’s a cracking watch and Dave’s
success proves it’s a huge hit with viewers.”
