U.S. Version of Who Do You Think You Are? Travels Internationally

LONDON: Outright Distribution has sold the U.S. version of Wall to Wall’s original format Who Do You Think You Are? to a number of Scandinavian countries.

Sweden’s SVT, Denmark’s DR, Norway’s NRK, Iceland’s 365 and Finland’s MTV3 have all signed up for the U.S. finished version. The show aired on NBC in the U.S., where it increased the channel’s average total audience in the time slot by 53 percent. A second series has already been commissioned by NBC and is currently in production.

SVT, DR, MTV3 and 365 have also picked up some of the BBC U.K. episodes. SVT has just commissioned its third series of its local version, and DR and NRK are both in production on their first local versions. Nordisk Film has optioned the format to produce an original version for the Finnish territory.
