TWF Finds U.S. Home

LONDON, October 30:
Cartoon Network has picked up the exclusive U.S. broadcast rights for Animation
Collective’s live-action, short-form series Thumb
Wrestling Federation: TWF
, with season one set to launch on November 3.

Seasons two through four
will run in succession throughout 2008-09. The series will air every weekday
leading into Cartoon Network’s late afternoon block, with a half-hour weekly
wrap-up show on Saturdays. Cartoon Network will also include bouts, games and
other special features on its website.

Al Ovadia, the president of Al Ovadia &
Associates, which represents TWF,
said, “I am delighted to be climbing into the ring with TWF. Kids are going to love the no-holds-barred thumb wrestling
action. TWF brings a fun and
action-packed personality to one of the most well established play patterns
around. It is sure to be as big a hit in the U.S. as it is in the U.K. In
laying out their year-long strategy, Cartoon Network has demonstrated a massive
commitment to the future of the series in the U.S.”
