Zig Zag Enters Deal for Korean AI Series

LONDON: Zig Zag Productions and South Korea’s MBC have inked a co-production agreement on a new doc format that explores the future of artificial intelligence (AI).

MBC has granted Zig Zag the global rights (outside South Korea) for its self-produced Future Human; AI series. The Korean Communications Agency (KCA) is partially funding the project. Zig Zag will produce an international version of the series and take that out to the international market.

The 3×1-hour Future Human; AI features interviews with global scientists, AI experts and futurists to reveal the latest research, technological developments and future innovations in recognition technology.

“We have spent lots of time recently visiting Seoul and Busan to understand the South Korean TV industry,” said Danny Fenton, the CEO of Zig Zag Productions. “Having already experienced great success in China and Japan, we’re delighted to extend our relationships in Asia to this thriving market that embodies the best of the region’s sensibilities.”

“It’s exciting to start a co-production with such significant international appeal with such a talented production company such as Zig Zag,” said Jinman Kim, executive producer at MBC.

“This project is one of the most rewarding in my three years in international co-productions and one of the most fascinating,” said CS Lee of Paan Media who is also supervising executive on behalf of MBC.
