ZDF’s Terra X Doc on Historical Gender Roles Starts Filming

Riddle of the Bones: Gender Revolution, a new Terra X documentary that explores historical gender roles, has commenced filming around the world.

The 52-minute doc will take a look at the results of archaeological research that challenge what is believed about the traditional roles of men and women. From Gebrueder Beetz Filmproduktion, Riddle of the Bones: Gender Revolution is currently being shot on location in China, Germany, France, Great Britain and Sweden. It is slated to air on ZDF in the spring of 2020. ZDF Enterprises is responsible for worldwide distribution.

Among the finds examined in Riddle of the Bones: Gender Revolution are a skeleton from a grave in the Viking stronghold of Birka, the Lascaux cave paintings, the so-called “Busenwand” (breast wall) and bones found in 4500-year-old graves in China.
