UKTV and BBC Select have commissioned World’s Most Amazing Walks with Robson Green from BBC Studios Specialist Factual Productions for U&Yesterday and U.

The eight-parter sees presenter and actor Robson Green trek across coasts, valleys, mountains and rivers to share his passion for walking and meet with locals, other walkers, historians, wildlife experts and geologists along the way.

From the rocky valleys of Poland’s Eagle’s Nest Trail, over the ancient pilgrim route of the Santiago di Compostela in Spain, to the secret coves of England’s Jurassic Coast, Robson takes viewers on adventures of some of the world’s most awe-inspiring trails.

The series is currently filming and will air in the U.K. on U&Yesterday and stream on U later this year.

“With his love of the outdoors and nature and passion for walking, Robson is the perfect guide to take viewers along these iconic trails through incredible landscapes,” said Helen Nightingale, head of factual and factual entertainment commissioning at UKTV. “We’re so thrilled to be working with Robson and the brilliant team at BBC Studios Specialist Factual, alongside BBC Select, on this stunning new series.”

Cassian Harrison, senior VP of content creation and acquisition at BBC Studios, commented, “The BBC’s international audiences consistently look to us for fresh and insightful views of our world and its stories, and this thrilling series with Robson Green will be a brilliant addition to BBC Select’s highly successful documentary catalog.”

“From the success of series such as Canal Boat Diaries, we know that U&Yesterday viewers love escaping on an outdoor adventure, and we’re delighted to welcome Robson to the growing roster of beloved stars who are bringing their passions to U,” said Adam Collings, director of programming for factual and factual entertainment at UKTV.

Jack Rampling, executive producer for BBC Studios Specialist Factual Productions, added, “Walking remains one of the most popular pastimes in the U.K. and worldwide. We’re so excited to be working with Robson, U&Yesterday and BBC Select to celebrate the joy of the hike over eight breathtaking episodes.”
