NEW YORK: World Screen and TV Real are teaming with Reed MIDEM to present the first-ever Factual Trendsetter Awards at MIPDoc, recognizing Smithsonian Networks’s David Royle, ZDF Enterprises’s Kristina Hollstein, RMC Découverte’s Corentin Glutron and Discovery’s Nesta Owens.

The Factual Trendsetter Awards honor executives for bold, innovative choices in documentary, factual-entertainment and lifestyle programming. This year’s recipients are David Royle, the executive VP of programming and production at Smithsonian Networks in the U.S.; Kristina Hollstein, the director of acquisitions and co-productions for documentaries at ZDF Enterprises in Germany; Corentin Glutron, the head of acquisitions at RMC Découverte in France; and Nesta Owens, the director of programs at Discovery Networks CEEMEA.

These executives will each receive a Factual Trendsetter Award at the end of the View From The Top: What Do Buyers Want? session at MIPDoc on Saturday, April 2. This session will see the honorees discussing their acquisition and co-production strategies in conversation with Anna Carugati, World Screen’s group editorial director.
