Wildflame Productions Appoints Head of Development

Wales-based factual indie Wildflame Productions has promoted Connie Fisher to head of development.

Fisher will lead the company’s push to expand its partnerships with international broadcasters worldwide and build on its existing success in the U.K. She has worked at Wildflame since 2016 as a development executive.

During her time at Wildflame, she has worked across a slate of projects for BBC, S4C and Channel 5, including Michael Ball’s Wonderful Wales, Katherine Jenkins: Home for Christmas, Carol Vorderman: Closer to Home and most recently, the BAFTA Award-winning documentary Strictly Amy Dowden: Crohns & Me.

Prior to joining Wildflame, Fisher was a West End performer and worked as a television presenter on shows such as BBC One’s Songs of Praise and Cardiff Singer of the World.

“Connie is a rising star of the industry,” said Paul Islwyn Thomas, CEO. “During her time at Wildflame, we have seen her become a key part of the team, largely due to her keen eye for fantastic talent and compelling stories.”

“I’m thrilled to take on this exciting new role and to build on Wildflame’s brilliant record,” Fisher said. “The business has never been more challenging or fast-moving, and I am looking forward to working with the team to get the best ideas to commissioners in the U.K. and around the world.”
