Wheelhouse Sports, Portal A and NBC All-Star Anthony Edwards’ Three Fifths Media have partnered for the YouTube docuseries Year Five.
The five-part series tracks Edwards’ fifth season as an NBA superstar, providing unprecedented access into his current season with the Minnesota Timberwolves. It will debut new episodes as the action happens, often within days of filming.
Episode one, launching on YouTube on February 11, will cover Edwards’ growth as a leader following the departure of his former teammate Karl-Anthony Towns. Facing criticism as the Timberwolves struggle in the first few months of the season, Edwards finds solace in his family and friends.
The series will feature exclusive interviews with Edwards and insights and commentary from those in his inner circle, his teammates and more.
Year Five is the first project to debut via Three Fifths’ partnership with Wheelhouse.
“I’m excited for everyone to see what we’ve been cooking up,” Edwards said. “The only way you could feel any closer to the action is if you were playing.”
“Anthony Edwards represents the future of sports storytelling—bold, authentic and completely in control of his narrative,” noted Stan Kaufman, VP of Wheelhouse Sports. “Year Five is just the beginning of what we’re building together at Wheelhouse Sports. This series isn’t just about basketball—it’s about bringing fans inside Ant’s journey in real time, and we’re proud to partner with him, Three Fifths and Portal A to make it happen.”
Nate Houghteling, co-founder of Portal A, commented, “Anthony Edwards is one of the most captivating athletes in all of sports, and a major reason for that is that he’s authentically himself in any situation. With Year Five, we knew our job was to let Ant be Ant and give him the ultimate platform to connect directly with his fans.”
“Wheelhouse has been an exceptional partner in helping bring our vision to life,” added Justin Holland, founder and head of Three Fifths Media and business manager for Anthony Edwards. “Fans will get to step into Anthony’s shoes and experience the journey of his NBA season in a way that is exciting and different.”
