Gusto Worldwide Media has inked a deal to bring original food content from Gusto TV to The Weather Channel’s free streaming service Local Now.

Gusto TV’s original content is now available as a live streaming channel on LocalNow.com. Gusto will expand on Local Now, including on OTT and mobile apps, in the coming months.

Local Now, powered by The Weather Channel and content partners, delivers real-time, localized information about current events, weather, lifestyle, sports, business and traffic. It offers localized content throughout 225 markets in the U.S. and has now added national programming streams. Gusto TV has been selected as a major food-content provider.

Michael Senzon, senior vice president and general manager of Local Now, said: “We’re thrilled to offer the vast array of culinary adventures that Local Now audiences crave through this partnership with Gusto TV. From shows that focus on local, seasonal produce to international cooking competitions, I can’t think of a better partner to help expand our content focus.

Chris Knight, CEO and president of Gusto Worldwide Media, added: “Food television cultivates community and culture—both of which we need so much more of these days. It’s about creating an emotional connection with our viewers; they invite us into their daily lives.”
