WE tv Orders Docuseries Hustle & Soul

NEW YORK: WE tv has greenlit the new docuseries Hustle & Soul, following a Brooklyn restaurant’s quest for a Michelin Star.

Hustle & Soul focuses on Lawrence Page, owner of and head chef at the Pink Tea Cup in Fort Greene. Page is on a mission to see his establishment become the first soul food restaurant to earn a Michelin Star. The 6×1-hour series looks on as Page handles power moves, fights and love triangles among the staff. The series is slated to premiere on WE tv early next year.

“When Lawrence Page resurrected the Pink Tea Cup and relocated it to Fort Greene, Brooklyn, he brought along a high-spirited team that always keeps love and dysfunction on the menu,” said Marc Juris, the president of WE tv. “WE tv viewers will be fascinated with Hustle & Soul and the engaging and highly entertaining staff of the Pink Tea Cup, where every dish comes with a side of drama.”

The series is produced by Big Fish Entertainment. Executive producers are Dan Cesareo, Ken Martinez and George McTeague. Kim Osorio serves as co-executive producer. In-house executive producers for WE tv are David Stefanou and Lauren Lazin.
