The seventh season of Monster Entertainment’s Video Killed the Radio Star is slated to premiere on Sky Arts HD on July 6.

Video Killed the Radio Star will air on Fridays on Sky Arts HD. Each episode will be dedicated to the artists, video directors and stylists who brought to life visual statements and music. The season examines artists’ early music videos and explores the impact the technology had on the industry as videos made music a visual and audio experience. Season seven will begin by taking a look at Peter Gabriel and George Michael.

The show reveals the concepts behind some of music’s most famous videos. It mixes the original videos with the iconic bands’ and artists’ on-set shenanigans, alongside the views and stories of the music video directors. Monster Entertainment is co-producing and distributing season seven of the MGMM music series from producer/director Scott Millaney.

The show features archive and original interviews with major artists such as Annie Lennox, Elvis Costello and Paul Weller. The series, which was commissioned by Sky Arts UK, has been broadcast on Sky Arte in German-speaking Europe, Sky Arts in Italian-speaking Europe, Sky Arts New Zealand, Musique Plus in Canada, Globosat in Brazil, MTV and DIRECTV in Latin America, ABC and SBS in Australia, Melody TV in French-speaking territories worldwide, SVT in Sweden, YLE in Finland, and Telefonica in Spain.
