Global Broadcasters On Board Video Killed the Radio Star

DUBLIN: Monster Entertainment has placed the latest season of the music series Video Killed the Radio Star with several broadcasters worldwide, including Sky Deutschland.

Sky Deutschland acquired German-speaking European broadcasts rights for the sixth season of the series in Germany, Austria, German-speaking Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Alto Adige in Italy. Telefonica, meanwhile, picked up the Spanish-speaking broadcast rights for Spain and Andorra, while Melody TV took the French-speaking European, African and Canadian rights. Additionally, Sky New Zealand acquired broadcast rights to seasons five and six.

Video Killed the Radio Star features archive and original interviews with major music artists such as Tom Petty, Lou Reed, Aretha Franklin and more. It puts a spotlight on the ideas behind some of music’s most famous videos.

Monster Entertainment co-produced the series with producer and director Scott Millaney’s production company, MGMM. Monster Entertainment is distributing the sixth season.

In addition to Video Killed the Radio Star, Sky Deutschland picked up season 14 of the live music series Other Voices. The broadcaster also signed on for several documentaries, including Pauline Bewick: Yellow Man, Grey Man, Jimmy Murakami: Non Alien and John Ford: Dreaming the Quiet Man.
