Video Interview with Blue Ant Media’s Vanessa Case

NEW YORK: TV Real talks to Vanessa Case, the executive VP of content at Blue Ant Media, about the partnership with Plimsoll Productions, some of the content that has been generated thus far and why the two-year production time frame is key to Camp Zambia.

Early last year, Blue Ant Media partnered with Plimsoll Productions to launch an ambitious production project, Camp Zambia. The initiative has seen the two organizations creating 50 hours of 4K wildlife and nature programming over two years for Blue Ant’s joint venture with Smithsonian Networks, Love Nature.

The Zambia-based production camp is home to a team of the world’s top directors, story producers and wildlife camera operators. The content generated through the project will be produced for Love Nature globally and Smithsonian Earth in the U.S. The programming will also be available for licensing worldwide via Blue Ant International and will range from blue-chip footage of animal behavior to nature programs. The project supports Love Nature’s commitment to create and distribute 200 hours of 4K nature and wildlife content annually.

Of the 50 hours, 30 are scheduled for delivery in 2017 as series and documentaries, including High Noon at the Hot Springs, Lion Dynasties and Growing Up Wild. In addition, Africa’s Hunters, The Big Dry and Guardians of the Wild are among Camp Zambia’s first round of deliveries, and are available via Blue Ant International. Cutting-edge technology is key, with Camp Zambia among the first production teams to use a military night-vision Selex camera to capture nocturnal animal behavior.
