Summer Qamp Sells to Peacock, Lands Musical Adaptation

Peacock has acquired Cineflix’s coming-of-age documentary Summer Qamp, while Clea DuVall (Happiest Season, But I’m a Cheerleader) is set to adapt it as a stage musical.

Summer Qamp follows a group of LGBTQ+ youth at an idyllic lakeside camp in Alberta, Canada. The film is a Cineflix production, presented by Bright West Entertainment in association with Hello Friend and Steve Robillard. DuVall will be collaborating with Robillard for the musical.

Summer Qamp had its world premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival has gone on to screen at over 40 film festivals around the world.

DuVall said: “Summer Qamp is a pure delight and relatable to anyone who knows the joy of finding a place they truly belong. I am thrilled to be working with Steve to bring this beautiful story to the stage.”
