Spike TV Adds Heath Ledger Doc to Lineup

I Am Heath Ledger, a new documentary focused on the life and work of the late actor, is due to debut on Spike TV in the U.S. next month.

I Am Heath Ledger, from filmmaker Derik Murray, is produced by Network Entertainment and distributed by FremantleMedia International. The 90-minute production features never-before-seen footage of Ledger as well as interviews with his friends and family members. The Australia-born actor was known for his roles in such films as 10 Things I Hate About You, The Patriot, Monster’s Ball, Brokeback Mountain and The Dark Knight.

I Am Heath Ledger is scheduled to air on Spike on May 17 at 10 p.m. The doc will make its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 23, and will receive a limited theatrical release nationwide on May 3 with Fathom Events. It will also have a digital/DVD release from Virgil Films on May 23.
