LOS ANGELES: Showtime has set a January 21 debut for the new eight-part docuseries Dark Net, which will explore the disturbing side of the digitally connected world.

The 8×30-minute series will focus on topics such as bio-hacking, cyber-kidnapping, digital warfare, online cults, pornography addiction and the webcam sex trade. It seeks to raise cautionary, through-provoking conversations about technology, privacy and the way the internet is changing the way we live for the better and for worse.

Dark Net is created by Vocativ Founder Mati Kochavi and is executive produced by Danna Rabin and Vivian Schiller for Vocativ, plus David Shadrack Smith for Part2 Productions.
