CrimeCall, from Green Inc. in Northern Ireland and Dublin-based Rare TV Ireland, is continuing to broadcast live throughout the current lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Green Inc. and Rare TV Ireland will co-produce a one-hour live edition of CrimeCall on Monday, April 27, for RTÉ One. This month’s edition of the series is to be filmed at RTÉ Studios in Donnybrook and will feature some pre-recorded segments, including short drama reconstructions. Hosted by Sharon Ní Bheoláin, the monthly program assists An Garda Siochána (the Irish police) with live investigations, circulating crime prevention advice and traffic safety messages, and issuing public appeals. The show is a mixture of studio items, reconstructions and information features.

Stephen Stewart, managing director of Green Inc., said: “Only a handful of live indie productions are continuing to broadcast in Ireland during these uncertain times, so we are pleased that a show like CrimeCall is able to continue to serve the public as a pillar of stability on RTÉ’s monthly schedule. I’m so proud of our team working remotely from home, as well as our colleagues in An Garda Síochána and Rare TV Ireland, who have been able to keep the important series on air without any loss of quality.”
