Matthew Winter has been appointed head of development for factual programming at the Banijay UK label Remarkable TV.

In his new role, Winter is tasked with driving forward a new factual development strategy for the company and building on its programming slate. Prior to joining Remarkable TV, Winter served as a development executive at Optomen. He also previously held roles at Boomerang, Lime Pictures and ITV Studios Australia.

Winter will report to Kitty Walshe, joint managing director at Remarkable TV.

Walshe said: “Matthew is a talented and creative television executive who brings a wealth of experience with him. We’re thrilled to have him on the team to help lead the charge on our factual slate. He joins at an exciting time for our factual team as we continue our drive to innovate with shows like Your Home Made Perfect for BBC Two and Virtually History for YouTube. He’s a great addition to the team and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Winter added: “It’s a real honour to join Kitty and the rest of the hugely talented team at Remarkable TV. I’ve watched with interest over the last few years as they’ve made hit after hit, creating some of the most innovative shows on TV. I’m very much looking forward to driving the Development team forward as we create the next raft of must-watch shows for UK and international platforms.”
