Passion Distribution Scores Sales Across CEE

Passion Distribution has completed sales for over 160 hours of factual programming across Central and Eastern Europe.

Elizabeth: Life Through the Lens, taking a look back at the reign of Elizabeth II and how she handled life on screen, was picked up by Polsat in Poland and TV JOJ in Slovakia. The documentary was originally produced by Unity House for Channel 4.

Polsat also acquired Dinosaur with Stephen Fry, produced by Mentorn Media and Kremplewood; seasons one and two of Secrets of the Superfactories, from Pioneer Productions; and The Machinery of War, from producer Wildbear Entertainment.

Kino Polska, meanwhile, licensed Beyond Our Earth (Wildbear Entertainment), season one of World’s Deadliest (Back2Back Productions), Planes Gone Viral (Pioneer Productions), Criminally Funny (Workerbee), seasons three and four of Dynamo: Magician Impossible (Phil McIntyre Television and Inner Circle Films), as well as the special Dynamo: A-Z.

In Slovakia, TV JOJ acquired a package of royal and history programming for its CS History, CS Mystery and JOJ PLAY channels. In addition to Elizabeth: A Life Through the Lens, it picked up ITN Productions’ Before They Were Royal, Voltage TV and Motion Content Group’s The Great Plague and Bulls Eye Lantern’s Jack the Ripper—The Definitive Story.

The Czech Republic’s Prima licensed a package of science programming featuring Pioneer Productions’ One Hour That Changed the World: The Moon Landing, How the Universe Works season two and Secrets of the Superfactories season two. Further acquired titles include Wildbear Entertainment’s Beyond Our Earth and Future Warfare, as well as Brown Bob’s Architecture the Railways Built seasons three and four.
