OutTV, an LGBTQ+ television and streaming service, has ordered three new documentaries.

The 90-minute Our Gay Family is being made as part of the service’s OUTspoken documentary strand. Rounding out the slate are The Last American Gay Bar, a three-parter, and the 45-minute one-off program Escape to Paradise.

From Firestarter Productions, Our Gay Family explores a family with three generations of women living a gay life. The Last American Gay Bar, produced by Kristian Day Media and Daylite Pictures, tells the story of the rise and fall of gay bars in America, while Escape to Paradise, from Producer Entertainment Group, spotlights Filipino-American drag queen Manila Luzon.

Philip Webb, COO of OUTtv, said: “Documentaries are a hugely important part of our programming slate, as they support our core values of telling the true stories of the LGBTQ+ community and continue to be popular with our audiences all over the world. These projects spotlight a multiplicity of queer experiences—from the importance of vibrant nightlife and spaces to host it to an intimate portrait of a family across generations.”
