NHNZ Names U.S. Production & Development Head

NHNZ has appointed Liz Brach as VP of production and development, a newly created role operating out of the factual producer’s Silver Spring office.

Brach will lead the editorial development and production of new projects made for the U.S. market, including for broadcasters Nat Geo, Animal Planet, Discovery and PBS, and streaming platforms Love Nature, Netflix and Facebook Watch. She will work under Kyle Murdoch, the managing director of NHNZ, while also collaborating with Anya Durling, the company’s head of development, sales and marketing.

Prior to this appointment, Brach oversaw the development of Rise of the Warrior Apes and Everest Rescue as senior director of programming and development for Discovery Channel International. Before that, she was VP of production and development for Discovery U.S. Earlier in her career, she did independent production and development work for such networks as TLC, Nat Geo, HISTORY, Discovery, HGTV and Travel Channel.

“We were lucky enough to work with Liz on a range of projects while she was with Discovery and we feel that Liz along with Sarah Hume, NHNZ’s U.S.-based executive in charge of production, make the foundation of a team that can find and deliver incredible content,” stated Murdoch.

“Having worked with NHNZ on many high-rating, award-winning programs as a network executive, I am now thrilled to be joining their team—and look forward to creating many more successful programs for our network and digital clients,” added Brach.
