NHNZ Fills Development Role for New U.S. Arm

DUNEDIN: NHNZ has appointed Abigail Rodriguez as the VP of development for Outrun the Sun, the company’s new division specializing in character-based factual content for the U.S. market.

Rodriguez has spent more than a decade working in documentary television as a producer, writer and developer. She previous worked in production for National Geographic Studios on such shows as Monsterfish and Explorer. She has contributed to the development of the special event Eat: A Story of Food and the character-driven series Snake Salvation and Kentucky Justice.

Rodriguez remarked: “This is an incredible opportunity to expand on the brand that NHNZ has cultivated around the globe. I’m eager to begin developing compelling programming for the U.S. market under Outrun the Sun.”

Kyle Murdoch, NHNZ’s managing director, added: “Outrun the Sun has a driving U.S. creative leading the charge in Abby. She has a real sense of what works and what doesn’t, and also has her hand on the pulse of the characters and access that will make all the difference to Outrun’s success.”
