New Roman Empire Series to Debut on Smithsonian Channel

Eight Days that Made Rome, a new series about the Roman Empire hosted by Bettany Hughes, is slated to premiere on Smithsonian Channel in the new year.

An award-winning historian, author and broadcaster and Oxford University scholar, Hughes will guide viewers through eight days that defined the Roman Empire. In Eight Days that Made Rome, she will travel across the vast region, exploring its history and investigating new archeological evidence.

Eight Days that Made Rome premieres on Smithsonian Channel on Monday, January 7, at 8 p.m. A special premiere episode sneak peek will air the night before on Sunday, January 6, at 9 p.m.

The series, produced by Adam Bullmore and Matt Robins, is directed by Jim Greayer for October Films. Joy Galane and David Royle serve as executive producers for Smithsonian Channel.
