TORONTO: Among the highlights lined up for this year’s World Congress of Science and Factual Producers (WCSFP) are the new program Immerse and a panel discussion led by SVT chief Hanna Stjärne.

Immerse will showcase the emergence of groundbreaking digital and interactive media technologies in factual programming. The program will include nine sessions that explore revolutionary trends in VR, 360, augmented reality, special effects and online content creation and implementation. Among the sessions are Capturing the Real World—Leaving CGI Behind, Taking Your Audience to the Most Inaccessible Place in the Universe, Making TV for Me and Augmented Reality—Beyond Pokéman GO.

The panel discussion Reinventing TV in the Digital Age will be led by Stjärne, who serves as the CEO of SVT. The session, which will be held on December 7 from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will explore the medium of television and how it has reinvented itself for the digital age. Stjärne and other major broadcasters will share their knowledge and expertise about the TV industry, its advancement and adoption into the digital space.

The Immerse program and Reinventing TV in the Digital Age panel join a full slate of conference sessions and networking opportunities at this year’s WCSFP, which is taking place in Stockholm, Sweden, from December 5 to 8.
