New Daytime Vacation Rental Show Coming to A&E

HomeAway has partnered with Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment and A+E Networks on the daytime series Vacation Rental Potential, due to debut on A&E Network next month.

Hosted by Holly Baker, Vacation Rental Potential is meant to show viewers how they can achieve their dream of having a vacation rental home. The unscripted series will visit ten popular holiday destinations across the U.S., including Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It is scheduled to premiere on A&E on Saturday, December 9, at 11 a.m during the channel’s Home.Made programming block.

“Vacation rentals are the fastest growing category in the entire travel industry,” said Kristen Nolte, HomeAway’s senior VP of brand and integrated marketing. “More and more people each year love staying in these incredible homes, and the show demonstrates how the dream of owning a vacation home is possible by making money renting to travelers.”

“We’ve wanted to create a show about vacation rentals because of the industry’s meteoric growth in popularity in recent years,” noted Michael Winter, Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment’s senior VP of programming. “Vacation Rental Potential combines the loves of house-hunting and vacation daydreaming with the added element of viewers actually being able [to] rent the homes featured on the show for their next family getaway. It shows viewers how to make their dreams in life come true.”

“We are always looking to work in innovative ways with our partners,” stated Jim Hoffman, the senior VP of program partnerships and strategic initiatives at A+E Networks. “Curating content that can both appeal to viewers and help marketers achieve their goals is what we are striving for. We have high hopes for this series, which seems perfectly timed considering the trends we are seeing in the vacation space.”

Vacation Rental Potential is the perfect combination of informative and entertaining storytelling,” added Christian Murphy, the senior VP of programming partnerships at A+E Networks. “We are thrilled to be working with HomeAway and Chicken Soup for the Soul on this new series, which provides viewers with actionable knowledge of a rising trend in real estate and inspiration for those of us planning our next vacation.”
